Prof.Dr. Zulkarnain Mohamad Sori

Dr. Zulkarnain is a Professor (Full) of Accounting specializing in financial reporting, accounting standards, auditing, corporate governance, Islamic accounting & Shariah governance. He received his Bachelor of Accounting & Master of Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) & PhD from Cardiff University, UK. He is a Chartered Accountant (Malaysian Institute of Accountants [MIA]), a Certified Training Professional (FAA), a Certified Professional Trainer (MIM) & a Certified Trainer (HRDF). He is actively involved in consulting, research & teaching at INCEIF/ISRA. His recent consultancy projects include Shariah assurance services, internal audit services, training of 300 members of BOD of Islamic banks & their related institutions (organized by the BNM). He has been Published extensively in academic and Professional Journals.

Prof. Dr. Aishat Muneza​

Prof Aishat Muneeza is an Associate deans at INCEIF University. Prof Aishath, who joined INCEIF in 2017, is acknowledged as of one of the founders of the Islamic finance industry in Maldives. She was a driving force behind the setting up of a number of institutions offering Islamic finance in her country. As a policy maker, attorney and also an academician who has tirelessly fought for the sustainable development of Islamic finance in her country, she is a role model and a mentor for women who aspire to develop a career in Islamic finance.

Prof. Shamseer Ramadili Mohamad​

Prof Shamseer is a Professor at INCEIF University Malaysia in the field of financial expertise, especially corporate finance. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and until now has made a massive intellectual contribution. His writings in the field of finance are spread in various international reputable journals, book chapters and books and actively convey his thoughts in various international seminars as well as being a reviewer at many conferences, symposiums and editors in various reputable journals. Prior to joining INCEIF Prof. Shamser was listed as a senior lecturer at Univeristy Putra Malaysia and had held strategic positions in government and private financial institutions in Malaysia

Dr. Mohammad Mahbubi Ali ​

Dr. Mohammad Mahbubi Ali is an Islamic Finance Expert and shariah scholar serving a number of Islamic Banks and Research Institutions. Graduated from Tazkia Global Islamic Institute in Indonesia with a Bachelor degree in 2009, he pursued master degree at INCEIF University Malaysia and successfully completed Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) in 2011. Also, he holds a PhD of Islamic Banking and Finance fromInternational Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2017. He worked in many professional institutions such as: International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS), Bank Negara Malaysia as shariah advisory and currently works at Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam.

The Diploma in Ethical Banking and Finance is designed to deliver theoretical and practical understanding of ethical Banking and Finance that is useful to the development of human capital in financial and related industries that inculcate moral values (Religion and Society) for a sustainable financial system.

The programme consists of various knowledge areas in financial and banking disciplines such as: Accounting, Economics, Ethics in Finance, Ethical Banking, Fintech, Entrepreneurship and a capstone module called Action-Based Learning that pull students’ knowledge on various areas learned throughout the programme in solving real-life problems.

We have an intake starting on 23 October 2023. Classes run from 6 – 10 PM from Monday to Thursday.

The Programme is offered by SSTC Institute. SSTC Institute is a premium private education institution established since 1978.  As testimony to our commitment to quality education and academic excellence. SSTC has been awarded the 4-year EduTrust Certification by the Committee for Private Education (CPE) of the Ministry of Education, Singapore.

  • For Full time students will take 18 months.
  • For Part time students will take 36 months.

Yes. It has been registered with the Committee for Private Education of the Ministry of Education, Singapore. The programme was developed in collaboration with iBantu Singapore, a financial consultant with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. iBantu is dedicated to the advancement of ethical banking and finance, with a focus on sustainability and green funding.

Several international universities, like the University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), have also recognized the programme. SSTC, in collaboration with iBantu, is continuing to take numerous strategic initiatives in order for many worldwide organizations, both educational and non-educational, to recognize this diploma programme.

  • AGE: at least 16 years old on course commencement.
  • ACADEMIC: Completed 10 years of formal education OR 2 GCE O Level. PASS grades OR equivalent.
  • ENGLISH PROFICIENCY: Learners who are non-native English speakers AND who have not carried out their final two years of schooling in English must demonstrate an English proficiency equivalent to a PASS in English Language subject at Year 10/GCE O Level/GCSE or Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages or PTE Academic 51 or IELTS 5.5 (reading and writing must be at 5.5) or equivalent.

Yes. English is the language of instruction for the diploma. International students will need to meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

We have five groups or clusters of modules, which are: Economics, Finance, Banking, Entrepreneurship and management, Fintech, plus one specific and unique module namely Action-Based learning.

No. However, the Action-Based Learning module will provide students with exposure to real-life cases faced by various businesses.

The programme is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in Ethical Banking and other ethical finance industries including the Islamic Banking and Finance Industry.

And it does not rule out the possibility of graduates being able to have a career in the financial and banking industry in general, lining up as entrepreneurs and the fintech industry.

The programme also allows graduates who have an interest in becoming researchers and academics in the field of ethical banking and finance to continue their studies to a more advanced stage.

Yes. The Diploma curriculum is based on international standards with 28 courses/modules covering a total of 90 credit hours and with at least 900 hours of learning, enabling graduates to continue their education to the bachelor’s level.

Instructors consist of scholars with an average educational qualification of Masters from various countries both Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. and also have experience in the financial industry and also the banking industry.

Yes. The programme will invite Professionals and Professors as guest lecturers/speakers at least twice for each course in each semester.

Yes. The text books and other materials as main references will be provided. Additional reading materials are available from the digital library.

Yes. Internally Assessed (Coursework/Assignment and Final Examination).

Yes. The grading system will be:

PASS Grades:

A: 70% and above

B: 65% to 69%

C: 60% to 64%

 

FAIL Grade:

D: 50% – 59%*

U: Below 50%

*Students who obtained a ‘D’ Grade for a module will be allowed to sit for a Supplementary paper but will only be able to achieve a maximum grade of ‘C’. Students who have good reasons for Special Consideration, will be reviewed by the Examination Board on a case-by- case basis for higher grades.

Maximum duration to complete the programme is within 36 months from the initial commencement of the programme for full-time students and 72 months for part-time students.

Teaching will be conducted by the instructor in a face to face in-class mode including: lectures, case studies, question and answer, group discussions, etc.

Guest lectures will be conducted online by inviting experienced professors and practitioners.

The Diploma organizes one specific course, Action Based Learning, which allows students to connect directly with the industry by working on and solving problems faced by the real world of work.

Currently the programme organizers are establishing intensive cooperation with various international universities in Malaysia and Singapore with one of the points of cooperation is that diploma students can transfer credits to degree programmes at universities.

Admissions will be open throughout the year. Prospective students can submit applications at any time and will be adjusted to the time of admission in January, March, June, August, and October.

The incoming application will immediately get a notification when the applicant has made a submission. Notification of being accepted or not in the programme will be conveyed within seven working days, via the applicant’s email.

  • Minimum 16 years old for regular student who has Completed 10 years of formal education OR 2 GCE O Level PASS grade OR equivalent.
  • Minimum 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience will be considered as matured candidates on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. Singaporeans/Singapore Permanent Residents are able work if they are enrolled in a Part- time mode of study. International students are strictly not allowed to work while holding a Singapore Student’s Pass.

Access to a digital library and learning management system to support their learning experience. Students will also have Wi-Fi access on campus. Lecturers and staff are all available to extend their assistance to all students to ensure that all students have a very enjoyable learning experience at SSTC Institute.
